In October 2010, China imported 450,000 tons of alumina, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%, with an import value of US\$15,535.1 million, a year-on-year increase of 29.97%. From January to October 2010, a total of 3.63 million tons of alumina were imported, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 19.5%, with a cumulative import value of US\$109,216.3 million, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 12.4%. The average export price was US\$345.22, a year-on-year increase of 18.41%.
