1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, grades and shape dimensions, technical requirements, test methods, quality evaluation procedures, packaging, marking, transportation, storage and quality certificates of burned microporous alumina graphite bricks.

This standard is applicable to burned microporous alumina graphite bricks used for lining blast furnaces.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1

Burned microporous alumina graphite brick

Burned alumina carbon with an average pore size of no more than 1μm, and the pore volume of pores smaller than 1μm accounts for no less than 70% of the total open pore volume.

4 Grades and shape dimensions

4.1 Burned microporous alumina graphite bricks are divided into two grades, WLT-1 and WLT-2, according to their physicochemical properties. WLT are the initials of "Wei", "Lv" and "Tan" in Pinyin.

4.2 The shape and size of burned microporous alumina graphite bricks shall conform to the provisions of YB/T 5012.

5 Technical requirements

5.1 The physicochemical indicators of burned microporous alumina graphite bricks shall conform to the provisions of Table 1.

Note 1: Pore size distribution detection range: 0.006μm~360μm.

Note 2: The molten iron erosion index is only applicable to the hearth and bottom of the furnace.

5.2 The dimensional deviations and appearance requirements of the fired microporous aluminum carbon bricks shall conform to the provisions of Table 2. The shape and size can be determined through consultation between the supplier and the demander.

Note: When using this brick to build the furnace bottom, the allowable dimensional deviation requirements are stricter, and the brick should meet the user's requirements after grinding.

6 Test Methods

6.1 Sampling shall be carried out according to GB/T 7321.

6.2 Determination of apparent porosity and bulk density shall be carried out according to GB/T 2997.

6.3 Determination of air permeability shall be carried out according to GB/T 3000.

6.4 Determination of normal temperature compressive strength shall be carried out according to GB/T 5072.

6.5Al2 O 3, Determination of TFe and C content shall be carried out according to GB/T 16555.

6.6 Determination of alkali resistance shall be carried out according to GB/T 14983, and the results shall be expressed as the strength change rate.

6.7 Determination of molten iron erosion index shall be carried out according to GB/T 24201.

6.8 Determination of thermal conductivity shall be carried out according to YB/T 5291 or GB/T 22588.

6.9 Determination of 1μm pore volume percentage shall be carried out according to YB/T 118.

6.10 Inspection of dimensions and appearance shall be carried out according to GB/T 10326.

7 Quality Assessment Procedures

7.1 Batching

Each batch shall not exceed 50t.

7.2 Sampling and Acceptance Criteria

Product sampling and acceptance shall be carried out according to GB/T 10325. The acceptance inspection items shall be determined through consultation between the supplier and the demander.

8 Packaging, Marking, Transportation, Storage and Quality Certificate

8.1 Packaging, marking, transportation and storage of products shall be carried out according to GB/T 16546.

8.2 Upon shipment, a quality certificate issued by the quality supervision department shall be attached. The quality certificate shall state the supplier's name or factory mark, the demander's name, the shipping date, the contract number, the standard number, the product name, the grade, the brick number, the batch number, the dimensions, the appearance and the results of physical and chemical tests, etc.

1 Range

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, grades and shapes, technical requirements, test methods, quality assessment procedures, packaging, marking, transportation, storage and quality certificates of fired microporous aluminum carbon bricks.

This standard is applicable to the sintered microporous aluminum-carbon bricks used in the lining of blast furnaces.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1

Burned microporous alumina graphite brick

The average pore size is not more than 1μm, and the pore volume with a pore size less than 1μm accounts for not less than 70% of the total volume of the opening pore.

4 Grades and shapes

4.1 Fired microporous aluminum carbon bricks are divided into two grades, WLT-1 and WLT-2, according to their physical and chemical indexes. WLT is the abbreviation of "micro," "aluminum," and "carbon" respectively.

4.2 The shape and size of the sintered microporous aluminum carbon bricks must comply with the provisions of YB/T 5012.

5 Technical Requirements 5.1 The physical and chemical indexes of sintered microporous aluminum carbon bricks must conform to the provisions of Table 1.

5.2 The size deviation and appearance requirements of the fired microporous aluminum carbon brick must comply with the provisions of Table 2. The shape and size can be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the demander.

Note: When the brick is used to build the furnace bottom, the allowable deviation of the size is strictly required, and the brick should meet the user’s requirements after grinding.

6 Test methods

6.1 Sample preparation is carried out according to GB/T 7321.

6.2 The apparent porosity and bulk density were measured according to GB/T 2997.

6.3 Breathability was measured according to GB/T 3000.

6.4 The compressive strength at room temperature is measured according to GB/T 5072.

6.5 The content of Al2O3, TFe and C was determined according to GB/T 16555.

6.6 Alkali resistance was measured according to GB/T 14983, and the results were expressed by the intensity change rate.

6.7 The determination of molten iron corrosion index was carried out according to GB/T 24201.

6.8 Thermal conductivity is measured according to YB/T 5291 or GB/T 22588.

6.9 The percentage of pore volume of <1μm was determined according to YB/T 118.

6.10 Size and appearance checks are carried out according to GB/T 10326.

7 Quality assessment procedures

7.1 Batch Encoding

Each batch is not larger than 50t.

7.2 Rules for sampling and conformity determination

Product sampling and acceptance shall be carried out according to GB/T 10325. Acceptance inspection items shall be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the demander.

8 Packaging, marking, transport, storage and quality certificate

8.1 Products are packed, marked, transported and stored according to GB/T 16546.

8.2 A quality certificate issued by the quality supervision department shall be provided. This certificate must include the supplier's name or factory standard, the demander's name, the delivery date, the contract number, the standard number, the product name, the brand number, the brick number, the batch number, the size, the appearance, and the physical and chemical inspection results.
