1. Tuyere for Converters and Electric Furnaces
Tuyere for converters and electric furnaces, also known as gas supply elements for converters and electric furnaces, refer to composite functional elements that use refractory materials as a matrix. Through a specific process (such as isostatic pressing), a certain number of stainless steel gas channels or circumferential seams are embedded in the refractory material matrix. During converter and electric furnace steelmaking, this product can be used to blow gases (including N2, Ar, compressed air, and CO) into the furnace, providing bottom-blowing stirring power for the molten steel. tuyere may or may not include inner bricks and lower seat bricks.
According to their shape, tuyere for electric furnaces and converters are mainly divided into four categories: directional multi-microtube permeable core bricks, circumferential seam tuyere, heat-replaceable tuyere, and non-replaceable tuyere.
1) Directional multi-microtube permeable core brick refers to a composite functional component that uses refractory material as a base, and through a specific process, arranges and embeds a certain number of stainless steel air channels of varying inner diameters within the refractory material base. During converter and electric arc furnace steelmaking, this product is used to blow gas into the furnace, providing bottom-blowing stirring power to the molten steel.
2) Circumferential slit permeable brick refers to a composite functional component that uses a specific process to combine stainless steel tubes of different diameters to form a circumferential slit, with the remaining parts filled with refractory material and an outer protective brick. During converter and electric arc furnace steelmaking, this product is used to blow gas into the furnace, providing bottom-blowing stirring power to the molten steel. It is also called a circumferential slit gun.
3) Hot-replacement permeable brick is a permeable brick that can be hot-replaced during a single furnace cycle. It includes permeable core bricks, outer sleeve bricks, and lower seat bricks. Hot replacement is only applicable to permeable core bricks or circumferential slit guns. Stainless steel gas channels are embedded in the permeable core bricks, providing a stirring power source for the converter and electric arc furnace. The outer casing bricks and lower seat bricks provide support and protection for the permeable core bricks.
4) Installed and used during the initial furnace construction for a new furnace, heat replacement is not possible during the furnace's service life until the end of the service life. Generally, it consists of permeable core bricks (with embedded stainless steel gas channels) or circumferential seam guns (with an outer protective casing brick), providing a stirring power source for the converter and electric arc furnace; it may or may not include the lower seat bricks.
2. Grades of tuyere
Converter tuyere are divided into four grades: CT-20, CT-18, CT-16, and CT-14.
Electric arc furnace tuyere are divided into four models: ET-16, ET-14, ET-12, and ET-10.
In the grade designations, C stands for Converter, E for Electric Arc Furnace, and T for Tuyere. The numbers represent the mass percentage of carbon content.
