Introduction to Tundish Nozzles
中间包水口简介
The tundish nozzle is located at the bottom of the billet continuous casting machine. It connects to a stopper rod at the top to form a flow control valve, and to an externally mounted submerged entry nozzle at the bottom. The upper tundish nozzle is used at the bottom of the tundish in slab continuous casting machines equipped with a quick-change submerged entry nozzle mechanism. The bowl of this type of material needs to be resistant to molten steel erosion. Especially for slab continuous casting machines, nitrogen gas needs to be introduced into the steel flow channel of the upper nozzle to prevent alumina nodule formation. For the upper nozzle, since the lower plate surface contacts and slides with the quick-change submerged entry nozzle surface, it also needs to be wear-resistant.
中间包水口置于方坯连铸机底部,上与塞棒配合成控流阀门,下与外装式浸入式水口相接。中间包上水口则用于板坯连铸机中配备浸入式水口快速更换机构的中间包底部。这类材料的碗部需要耐钢水冲刷,同时特别对于板坯连铸机,上水口流钢通道需要通入氮气以防止氧化铝结瘤。对上水口而言,因下板面与快换式浸入式水口的板面接触、滑动,故而还需耐磨。
2 The function of the tundish nozzle:
中间包水口的作用:
1) It can control the size of the impact zone during ladle pouring, controlling the stirring intensity of the ladle pouring on the molten steel in the tundish, promoting the collision and agglomeration of inclusions into larger particles for removal.
2) It can contain slag entering the tundish with the ladle pouring within the impact zone, reducing secondary pollution of the molten steel caused by slag entrapment.
3) It can limit the surface fluctuations of the molten steel in the tundish caused by ladle pouring and impact to the upstream of the weir, stabilizing the molten steel level downstream of the weir and reducing the amount of inclusions generated by surface slag entrapment, secondary oxidation, and mechanical processes.
1)可以控制钢包注流冲中击区的大小,控制钢包注流对中间包钢水的搅拌强度,促进夹杂物碰撞和粘结成大颗粒上浮去除。
2)可以将随钢包注流进入中间包的炉渣挡在注流冲击区内,减少钢水因钢包卷渣造成的二次污染。
3)可以将大包注流;中击引起的中间包钢水表面波动限制在堰的上游,稳定堰的下游中间包钢水液面,减少因表面卷渣、二次氧化和机械)中产生的夹杂量。

The material for tundish nozzles for small billet tundishes is generally zirconium composite. Some are also made of alumina-carbon alloy. The specific material used depends on the steel grade being smelted and the specific operating conditions (size of the tundish, location, operating temperature, etc.).
小方坯中间包水口的材质一般是锆复合质 。 还有一部分是铝碳质, 具体要用什么材质需要根据冶炼的钢种, 和具体的工况(中间包的大小尺寸, 使用位置, 使用温度) 等等来决定。
