Stopper rod for electric furnace tapping

Steel ladle nozzle filler is used to fill the sliding nozzle of the steel ladle in the steelmaking workshop, isolating the molten steel from the nozzle slide plate. It is a granular refractory material composed of a certain proportion of particle sizes, requiring that the molten steel can break through the filler and achieve automatic pouring when the slide plate is opened before the molten steel is poured.

Electric arc furnaces have begun to widely adopt eccentric bottom steel tapping technology (EBT for short) to achieve slag-free steel tapping. Like the steel ladle nozzle, the EBT tapping port also needs to be filled with refractory materials during the smelting process. When tapping steel, the steel tapping plate is opened, and the molten steel flows out naturally under the action of the static pressure of the molten steel when the electric furnace is tilted.

The electric furnace tapping port filler developed by our company mixes forsterite with different forsterite particles, and adds a certain amount of additives, so that the natural pouring rate of EBT filler can reach 98-100%, and the natural pouring rate of steel ladle nozzle filler reaches 90-95%.

Its technical indicators are as follows:

MgO: 45-49%

SiO2: 38-43%

Fe₂O₃: 5-8%

BD: 2.8-2.9

The electric furnace tapping port filler produced by our company has low production cost, high strength, good erosion resistance, and enhanced market competitiveness.
